When my grandfather worked in South africa the dutch government gave him a revolver, to protect himself (1930s), just in case… he kept it. When he moved to Holland, when he was retired in the seventies, he went to the police to report it…. They took it right away from him, without comment. When my grandmother died in the 90s we found this in her apartment.
